The class action is based on Mercedes' representations that their BlueTEC Clean Diesel vehicles are “the world’s cleanest and most advanced diesel” with “ultralow emissions, high fuel economy and responsive performance” that emits “up to 30% lower greenhouse-gas emissions than gasoline.” Mercedes also states that its BlueTEC vehicles “convert the nitrogen oxide emissions into harmless nitrogen and oxygen” and “reduces the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gases by up to 90%.” CONSUMER LAW GROUP is investigating a Canada-wide class action lawsuit in Ontario and Quebec against car maker Mercedes on behalf of owners and lessees of its BlueTEC Clean Diesel vehicles.
